Abdul Hadi, 48, is a resident of Cheshma-e Meeran village in Uruzgan province, southern Afghanistan. Abdul Hadi lost his leg in a landmine explosion in his area in 2018. Cheshma-e Meeran has been the front line in the conflict between the Taliban and the former government for over six years. Abdul Hadi has five sons and three daughters. He says, “peace and security have come to our place but what has been left for us are destroyed houses, we lost everything we had. And no one has supported us so far.”
