Photo Caption:
Sayed holds his wheelbarrow in front of his house in an informal settlement in Khost. The man used to work as a day labourer on construction sites or at the local market, transporting heavy material in wheelbarrows. “Since the Taliban takeover, none of us has been able to find a proper job. We are living hand to mouth; if we manage to find some work, we use that money straight away to buy food for the day,” he says. The workers who used to earn up to 6 US dollars per day, now go home with 70 cents, if they are lucky.
