Staff at a food bar speak with an NRC staff member. The owner of the food bar was supported by NRC to build her new business, after she was displace due to violence.
Notes:
Evelyn Santos had to leave all behind and started a new life after being affected by the violence in Honduras. She now has a business venture in Honduras, a food bar catering the personnel of several warehouses in an industrial district. NRC supported her to build her new business.
QUOTES from Evelyn:
“The business is booth selling meals to the persons working in the warehouses. I have it since September last year. Before, I had a stand on the street, it was not a closed space. With the help NRC has given, I was able to set up this new place.”
“There are many plans for the future, to get a car, because it is difficult for us to move around, and I have to pay for races to deliver the meals.... to be a little bit bigger and God willing I will make a franchise...they tell me that I hallucinate a lot, for me it is not hallucinating, for me it is future goals.... how about having a chain of food stores?, right now it is hard for us, but I know that we are going to achieve it”.
