After traveling for more than two hours by boat across sea and river, the Norwegian Refugee Council through the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) arrives in indigenous communities affected by the armed conflict to provide assistance.
"Before, we felt alone, but now through this organization like the Norwegian Council, we feel like we have a 'father', something changes, like a force that comes to us. I feel happy with you", says Gudiela.
We provide comprehensive assistance to the population: we promote awareness of their rights so that they can demand that the government fulfills its obligations; we promote messages about gender-based violence, access to humanitarian assistance and preventing scenarios of violence; we also provide school supplies and carry out educational activities for children.
