Up to 50 people managed to cross into Zaporizhzhia on Tuesday 22 November. 91-year-old Milana and her daughter, 64-year-old Ludmila were amongst them and said they could no longer live in the basement of their bombed out house in Mariupol: ‘We had to leave or we would die'. They were welcomed at a reception centre run by several organizations including NRC, where they register for a range of services and receive a hot meal.
