NRC Secretary General Jan Egeland meets Fathi, a 21-year-old Sudanese refugee who had to flee from Geneina after he witnessed his friends being executed by armed militias. He saved some of them by convincing the armed men that his friends did not belong to the Masalit tribe, whom they wanted to kill.
“I did all I could to save friends but I had to flee and now I have nothing left. I was studying to become an accountant, now I don’t know what to do.”
